Blue Clover Adds Three Veterans to its Staff

Blue Clover, a versatile, fast moving On and Off-Line Branding TM firm based in San Antonio, has named three industry veterans to its management team.

Carl Thompson has been named partner and vice president of strategic planning. Mark Sullivan has been hired as creative director; Lynn Lekander is now the company’s media director.

Thompson will develop comprehensive and effective communication strategies for Blue Clover clients. His expertise comes in the fields of convergence marketing strategy, consumer behavior, quantifying market effectiveness and brand planning. Thompson has been an integral part of developing the marketing strategies for a number of Fortune 500 companies including Ogilvy and GSD&M Idea City, as well as some of the most well-known brands in the world. This includes Craftsman Tools, JCPenney, Subaru, Lennox Heating and Air Conditioning, Dairy Queen, Smirnoff Vodka, Remy Cointreau and The New York Life Insurance Company.

Sullivan’s creative abilities have been recognized both nationally and internationally with numerous awards including Addy’s, One Show and Clios. His work has appeared on such programs as TBS’s “The World’s Funniest Commercials.” Sullivan’s ideas have benefited such brands as Pepsi-Cola, Miller Brewing Company, Dairy Queen, Brinker Restaurants International, Federal Express, AMD Electronics, Universal Studios, Papa John’s, Dr. Pepper, Stanley Steamer International, M&M Mars, Stoli, Chuck E. Cheeses, Jose Cuervo, Smirnoff, Coca-Cola Foods, Pier 1 Imports, First Union Bank, The American Cancer Society and much more. His abilities have also been sought out by some of America’s most notable advertising agencies, including Bates New York, DDB Needham, Interger Group, and Ryan Partnership, to name a few.

Lekander has worked in the media field for more than 20 years. She moved to Texas from Detroit and has worked for large and small agencies providing her with an understanding of the strategic role and effectiveness of different media. Agencies she has worked for in San Antonio include Creative Link and The Atkins Agency.

San Antonio-based Blue Clover was established in 2003 by marketing experts and partners José Sena, Juan Barrera and Chris Gilbert. The growing staff now includes a fourth partner, Carl Thompson, and 14 full-time creative, technology and management professionals with extensive traditional and multicultural marketing, public relations and web-based communication experience from throughout the world. In July 2007, the firm opened new offices in Mississippi and Atlanta to serve its southeast customers, hiring Tidwell as business development of the southeast division. The firm also opened an office in Dallas, TX last summer.
