Blue Clover Honored with 16 Addys, including Five Gold for Elements of Advertising, Interactive Media and Collateral Material

San Antonio, Texas – Blue Clover has proven once again that its hard-hitting, highly creative on-line and traditional branding techniques work, and people are noticing. In only its third year of existence, Blue Clover nabbed 16 Addys — five of which were Gold — at the San Antonio American Advertising Federation’s annual Addy Awards ceremony held on Saturday, February 11, 2006.

Blue Clover – the versatile “On and Off-Line Branding™ firm” based in San Antonio – won Gold Addys in the “Elements of Advertising,” “Interactive Media,” and “Collateral Material” categories for its creation of exceptional logos for Golden Friends, Global Data Finder and Pericos Mexican Cuisine, as well as for website design for Pericos (www.pericosgrill.com), and the City of Seguin brochure. A Gold Addy recognizes the highest level of creative excellence and is bestowed upon the entries that the national judges deem the cream of the crop.

“I knew when I decided to create a new kind of restaurant,” said Russell Reyes, owner of Pericos Mexican Cuisine, “that I wanted an innovative branding campaign. Blue Clover assessed my needs, and came up with a blended campaign that played both cards: online marketing with the new website and online coupons, and then more traditional methods such as POP materials: t-shirts, table tents, posters, fax blasts and signage. They understood my vision and so my customers experience the look and feel of Pericos whether they are in the restaurant or surfing the net.”

Blue Clover also picked up six Silver Addys: four in “Interactive Media” for website design for Hedda Layne (www.heddalayne.com/), Cielo Lounge, Bikram Yoga (www.bikramyogasa.com/), and Code Green Landscaping; one in “Collateral Material” for Congressman Charlie Gonzalez’s 60th birthday invitation; and one for logo creation for Möbius Partners.

Finally, Blue Clover racked in five Bronze Addys: two in “Elements of Advertising” for Congressman Gonzalez’s birthday party logo and Pericos’ Third Year Anniversary logo; and three in “Interactive Media” for Obra Homes website design, the UTSA Center for Professional Excellence website, and the American Marketing Association (AMA) website (a pro-bono project).

The Addys represent the advertising industry’s largest and most representative competition – recognizing and rewarding creative excellence in the art of advertising. The awards acknowledge the true creative spirit of advertising, from all types of media, created by all sizes and types of entrants, from anywhere in the world.

Blue Clover’s substantial wins this year follow their outstanding achievement of winning a Gold Addy and several Merit awards in its first year of business at the 2004 ceremony, and a Gold, Silver and two Bronze Addys at last year’s ceremony.

“Winners at award ceremonies often say it is a team effort with fellow staff members and directors,” says Juan Barrera, Creative Director and co-partner of Blue Clover. “That is absolutely true, but we include our clients in that team. All of our Addy-winning projects are with clients that trust us, and let us roll. They share our passion for creative expression, and that fosters inventiveness of the best sort.”

“Pericos and the City of Seguin’s Economic Development Corporation (SEDC) are both clients who trust our vision,” says José B. Sena, president and CEO of Blue Clover. “SEDC liked the logo we designed for them so much that they let us fly on the brochure—from photo shoots to copy righting to design—and we are now carrying the brand through other collateral materials, including its website, trade show booth panels, and gift packaging.”

San Antonio-based Blue Clover was established in 2003 by marketing experts and partners Sena, Juan Barrera and Chris Gilbert. Blue Clover is a versatile, fast-moving, creative firm that fuses Internet and traditional marketing/media.
